Pay Tribute to Those Who Served in the Armed Forces on Veterans Day

Veterans Day is November 11th. It's a special day where we stop and reflect as well as honor those who have served in the Armed Forces. Whether it is the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, or Coast Guard, these men and women deserve a whole-hearted tribute and recognition for being on the front lines and defending the freedoms and rights of our country. Even if they are no longer with us, these veterans should be remembered for their service. Throughout Rome, Georgia and Cedartown, Georgia, we are honoring our veterans on this Veterans Day. Although we may not be able to have the same parades and public events that we have done in the past, there are many ways to thank our veterans. First, call and thank the veterans you know. If possible, stop by and let them know you appreciate them. If either of those options isn't possible, you can also send a letter to them. Or, you can organize a drive-by parade of a veteran's house so they can have their own personal parade! Second, if these veterans have passed away, then perhaps it is possible to visit their graves and leave them a bouquet of patriotic flowers to show your tribute to them. You may be also to host them at your house if they are family or friends. It's good to hear their stories and relive the time they have spent on the front lines either in battle or in their role in the armed forces at a base. Your favorite Cedartown florist and Rome, GA flower shop has a number of options to celebrate Veterans Day with red, white, and blue flower arrangements. These patriotic floral displays include bouquets, flower arrangements in vases and baskets, standing sprays, and even casket flowers for those veterans who [...]

Traditional and Fun One of our favorite ways to decorate for Halloween is to use a lot of pumpkins and gourds. Carved or uncarved, they are symbols of fall that carry right through to Thanksgiving. We offer ceramic pumpkin containers filled with different styles and colors of flowers and fall accents. We can also add little pumpkins to our plant and garden arrangements or any of our fall bouquets. This includes floral arrangements in darker shades with willow branches, leaves, and more. Decorating Your Home with Autumn Floral Hues

The beauty of fall is that there is such a rich collection of colors that define the season. That gives us many ways to decorate that fit our home and personal style. Our Rome, Georgia flower shop and Cedartown flower shop both offer a fall collection of flowers that illustrate the range of colors available across our autumn floral products. Orange and Peach We equate the color orange with fall primarily because of pumpkins. This popular symbol of fall offers a fun way to decorate your home. Add pumpkins to your front porch along with other gourds. Or, you can use our ceramic pumpkin containers to display flowers throughout your home, including as a centerpiece. However, peach has grown in popularity as a fall color for more subdued floral designs, including elegant presentations that combine peach and cream flowers. Yellow Yellow is another popular hue for autumn due in large part to the use of sunflowers in rustic fall arrangements. Along with pumpkins, the sunflower is a cheerful way to celebrate the season, adding warmth as the weather changes to cooler temperatures. Of course, we also have other yellow flowers like roses to add sunshine to your fall decor. Metallic This year, we've noticed an increase in the use of metallic colors, including gold, bronze, and silver. This includes using these colors in the flowers, fall accents, and vases. The metallic tones add a bold and rich look to your fall decor, which also blends with both traditional and modern decor styles. Purple and Burgundy Considered regal colors, purple and burgundy add a bold color look to any room. While burgundy is often seen in fall floral displays, including stunning fall leaves, purple may not be a color necessarily associated with the season. However, it's a color choice that is [...]

Honor National Breast Cancer Awareness Month with Flowers From Bussey’s Florist

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a month to focus on awareness and support for breast cancer. It involves informing more about early detection, the importance of mammograms, how to treat breast cancer, and how to provide positive support. This is also a time to focus on fundraising to help accelerate breast cancer research and treatment. The month of October is also an opportune time to show love and support to those you know that are fighting breast cancer or have even recovered. Every year, there are many local events to participate in. However, 2020 is a little bit different with many of these going virtual. There is also an opportunity for you to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month in other ways: Use your social media accounts and profiles to draw attention to this month with stickers, frames, photos, and posts about those you know fighting it now and those you know who may have recovered. Or, maybe you may even post about someone who lost their battle to remind others of the importance of supporting this cause. Volunteer for a breast cancer organization or event. Support charities that nonprofits that provide support to breast cancer patients, such as those that make wigs, provide free mammograms, or that help in other ways. Participate in a virtual or physical run or walk event to raise money for breast cancer research and treatment. They also need your love and positivity to help maintain their health. One of the ways you can do this is to send some beautiful pink flowers in a bouquet or arrangement to let them know you are thinking pink and thinking of them. At Bussey's Florist, your favorite Cedartown and Rome, GA flower shops, offer pink flowers in all styles, sizes, and floral designs. Choose from small [...]
